Publikujući ovo istraživanje želimo dati podsticaj naučno-istraživačkom radu u zemlji i regionu.
Partnerships in Health / Partnerstvo za zdravlje announce publication of the
second
"Research on Risk Behaviour With Regard to HIV
Prevalence in the Groups at Increased Risk”
in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Like two years ago, research was conducted by a consortium composed of the
Institute for Public Health of Republic of Srpska, Public Health Institute
of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Partnerships in Health /
Partnerstvo za zdravlje, with financial support from the Global Fund to
Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) and United Nations Development
Programme (UNDP).
The study included respondents from a population of sex workers and men who have sex with men, which are considered to be groups at increased risk of acquiring HIV infection.
Data and analysis are essential for a better understanding of the nature of
the AIDS epidemic and the development of an adequate response to this
epidemic. It is the shared goal of all stakeholders involved in fighting
HIV and AIDS globally, and at the same time a reason to conduct this
research. While preparing and conducting the research, our
plan was to obtain a feedback on the quality of our work in prevention of
the spread of the AIDS epidemic in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as
guidelines for further work. Results of the research indicate that all
stakeholders can be proud of the achieved results. However, we must not
forget that there is a human being in need of protection from the HIV behind
each and every number and percentage! Having this in mind, in order to
protect each and every individual, we must not neglect any area of response
to HIV and AIDS and therefore we must continue and expand our preventive
efforts.
By publishing this research, we want to stimulate the scientific and
research activities in the country and the region. We sincerely hope that
this publication will successfully present to you the scope of epidemic the
entire world is facing and the epidemic situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina
and the region of Central Asia and Eastern Europe.
The publication will be distributed to all interested institutions.
The PDF file of the publication is available in English and the languages
of
peoples in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
